Great news for the ski resort at Allos which is now going to remain open until the 13th April - so if you haven't made any plans yet for the Easter weekend, then why not hop on a flight and come over for a few days skiing or snowboarding? The days are warm and sunny with the added benefit of plenty of snow - plus the resort is only a 40 minute drive away so you can combine a ski holiday with family time here in St André. Check out the attached link for more details http://www.alittlepieceofheaven.biz/activities.php Flying Season begins A few die-hard pilots have been flying over the winter months, hiking to take-off on snow-shoes through 3 metres of snow! However, from early April the local flying school will be open and the season will begin in earnest. Remember, Mark loves to take people tandem paragliding so, if you fancy giving it a go, then get in contact with us (undertaken at your own risk) helen@aerotow.com Lac de Castillon - St Andre The lake is beginning to fill up ready for the summer. The fishing season opened on the 14th March. You can buy a fishing permit in town and fish in the river, just a few minutes from our house. L'Issole river, which flows under the iron bridge leading to our house, is stocked with trout while the lake has pike, perch, carp and trout. Don't forget that the lake is wonderful fun in the summer - excellent for swimming, wind surfing, canoeing and sailing. Shallow waters around the edge of the lake make it great for youngsters - it is normally full between July and mid September. Mountain biking A lot of the trails have been inaccessible over the winter due to the snow but this is now starting to clear.
